Project I, called Ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ ("the beginning"), is three identical four-bedroom homes built side by side on Block IV, Plots 2 & 3, in the Layout of Educational Zone, Ring Road GRA, Ibadan. The first home is named after our founder's mother, Àríkẹ́.
In Yoruba: one to be cherished. Named after Malik's mother.
Four bedrooms, all ensuite. Set on the corner plot with the longest road frontage of the three. Identical architectural specification across all three homes in Ìbẹ̀rẹ̀, with the same engineer, same finishing schedule, same materials brief. The differences across Àríkẹ́, Adé, and Ọlá are positional only.
In Yoruba: crown.
The centre home of the three. Same four-bedroom layout, same build specification, same finishing schedule. Adé sits between Àríkẹ́ and Ọlá, with the most sheltered positioning of the three plots.
In Yoruba: honour and wealth.
The eastern corner plot. Same four-bedroom layout as Àríkẹ́ and Adé. Ọlá sits on the eastern boundary, with the best afternoon light of the three and the longest garden depth.
Foundations, walls, roofing, and finishing happen across Àríkẹ́, Adé, and Ọlá at the same time. Same crew, same materials, same standard. Track every week of the build on the journal page.
